Kay is a Licensed Professioal Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in individual and relationship psychotherapy. She maintains a private practice on the northern edge of Las Colinas, an area of far north Irving. It is easily accessible from the surrounding cities of Irving, Coppell, Lewisville, Carrollton and Grapevine, as well as the mid-cities and Dallas.
With over 30 years experience as a clinician, Kay is currently a private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among her areas of expertise and interest are relationships of all kinds, couples counseling, mood disorders (depression, anxiety), grief and loss, women's issues, family systems, work/life balance, aging and caregiving challenges, stress reduction, spiritual issues, work difficulties, decision making, effective communication, and pre-marital counseling.
As an addition to her private practice, Kay has served as a provider for Employee Assistance Programs, offering on-site consultation for major companies. She is experienced and skilled in doing EAP assessment, referral, and counseling as well as consulting with employees and managers on workplace systems and issues.
Kay is certified to administer the Prepare/Enrich inventory for pre-marital and couples counseling, which includes the assessment and approximately eight follow-up sessions covering strengths and growth areas of the couple.
Kay is a practical, interactive, solution-focused therapist. Her treatment approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients resolve current problems and long-standing patterns. She incorporates a blend of conventional and practical approaches, drawing upon a variety of styles and techniques to incorporate what will be most helpful for each client. With sensitivity and compassion, she works with each client to help them build on their strengths to identify and achieve life goals.
